William J. Meyers - Founder of RepealTheSmokingBan.org & Online Coordinator
William hails from Humboldt, Iowa and is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a terrorism expert. William competed in the 2008 Democratic primary election in Iowa's 4th Congressional District for U.S. House. He is currently obtaining degrees in Political Science (Terrorism & Immigration), German Language, and Computer Science.
William resided in Austria and while there, joined a coalition of owner-operators who successfully defeated Austrian legislators attempts at a similar smoking ban. William is an enormous advocate for Owner-Operator rights and civil liberties.

Joe Sturgis - State Leader in the movement to repeal the ban
Joe has owned The Rusty Nail, in Davenport, for 32 years. He has organized and sponsored many fundraisers for different groups to include The Handicap Development Center, Red Cross, Cancer Victims, Make A Wish Foundation, and many others. Joe is also a member and host for Abate of Iowa, Fathers Rights of Iowa member and hosts their meetings. Joe's Rusty Nail has also been the headquarters and host for every election for as long as anyone can remember and had countless fundraisers for politicians.
Joe is also a current candidate for the Iowa House of Representatives.

Jonathan H. Van Roekel - State Leader in the movement to repeal the ban
Jonathan was born in Ottumwa Iowa on October 6th 1969. He is married to Jill Van Roekel (Hyer) of Eldridge Iowa for the last 9 years. Together they have 3 Children Aubrey Nicole (10), Emma Elizabeth (5), Isabella Mae (2). Jon grew up in Albany Illinois and moved to Clinton at the age of 18. He graduated Clinton Mater Dei Class of 1988 and served as the Student Body President. He then attended Mt. St. Clare College 1988 1989 on academic and Sports Scholarships.
Jon has been employed in food and beverage industry for 24 years 20 years in management. He attended Culinary Arts Program Scott Community College 1993 and has wwned multiple small businesses including: Bar and restaurants; Catering; Landscaping and Flooring. Jon is currently a flooring contractor, landlord, Co-owner Mr.G’s Pizza and full-time Honor student at Clinton Comm. College
Jon is also the President and Founder of Clinton’s Organized Bar and Restaurant Association (COBRA), Board Member of Choose Freedom Iowa Committee, Vice President Iowa Bar Owners Coalition, Certified Trainer TIPS Alcohol Awareness Program, Leading advocate in the fight for business rights including: Touchplay, Building Codes, Fire Suppression Code, Iowa’s Smokefee Air Act, Under 21 Business restrictions and dram shop insurance restrictions.
Jon intends to finish his education while representing the citizens of Clinton and the State of Iowa and eventually attend law school to specialize in Constitutional Law.

George Eichhorn - Representing Attorney for Iowa Bar and Restaurant Owners
A former elected Representative from Hamilton County, George Eichhorn has been a Republican leader in Iowa for many years. George has been a leader in the practice of law with memberships on the Information Security Committee and E Privacy Committees of the American Bar Association, as a member of the Law Department Management Committee of the Association of Corporate Counsel, and as the Chairman in 2007 of the Corporate Council Section of the Iowa State Bar Association. He is admitted for practice in the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts in both the Northern and Southern District of Iowa.
For three terms George was elected and re-elected to serve the citizens of his district in the Iowa House of Representatives. In the House, he served as a member of the Government Oversight, Judiciary, Public Safety and Ways and Means committees. A strong Republican with a conservative voting record, George was known as a legislator who could work across party lines and across the aisle to get things accomplished for the people of Iowa.
